I am laughing SO hard, Tricia. I have the SAME problem! This little rascal CHASES Ruby from the feeders! I have to strategically locate hummer feeders all over my yard because of this.
I know that they ( the yellow rumps) like sap, in fact, I read that they follow sapsuckers around ( if you can't find a hummer, go for a sapper, right?).
That sugar water must be food stuff. The orioles love it too.
