On a tip from some folks I met in ENP,(Thank you!!) I went out to find the bananaquit Thursday, Feb. 28. I waited 17 minutes before it began to "chip" from the manicured hedge, then flew out, alighted on the overhead wire where I got a great view, and continued across to the red bottlebrush flowers on the other side of the street. In six minutes it flew back into the hedge. I waited about 15 additional minutes and it did not make another appearance. This occurred between 2:15 and 3:00 in the afternoon.
