Both Scarlet and Summer Tanagers occur her in south Florida during migration and a few overwinter. We also occasionally have Western Tanagers. I have seen Scarlet Tanagers on Pigeon Key in April and Summer Tanager on the Doc Thonas/
Tropical Audubon Property in the same month. Both in adult plummage.
I seem to remember that the Scarlet Tanager prefers the Mississippi flyway for migration so it is less seen in Florida. They were a nesting bird in southeast Michigan.

: Just got back from birding the Flamingo V.C. parking lot and marina and spotted a male scarlet tanager.(Mostly red with a few streakes of yellow)
: He was happily munching on insects found in a Mahogany tree. Our checklist says "rare" for sightings.
: Also spotted a Gray kingbird, Scissor-tailed flycatcher and multiple Red-bellied woodpeckers and Cardinal.
: Would have birded more but the mosquitos won the battle once again!
