Just got back from birding the Flamingo V.C. parking lot and marina and spotted a male scarlet tanager.(Mostly red with a few streakes of yellow)
He was happily munching on insects found in a Mahogany tree. Our checklist says "rare" for sightings.
Also spotted a Gray kingbird, Scissor-tailed flycatcher and multiple Red-bellied woodpeckers and Cardinal.
Would have birded more but the mosquitos won the battle once again!
