Thanks Tricia for posting your lovely pictures from STA - 5 and its environs.
I am glad you enjoyed the bread pudding with Amaretto sauce recipe. Maybe all of us birders should get together at the end of the day at "5" for a covered dish dinner.
It now looks like Henry decided make his appearance closer to his "camp" at the Big Cypress Reservation rather than flying all the way down to Snake Bight. (See the Tropical Audubon Society 12/28/2007 Birdboard posting "BIRDING, SHARKING and CROCING - Everglades National Park 12/04/2007 for background.) He could not have picked a better time of year or a more appreciative audience.
Mossy and I also added a mammal to our Hendry- Glades list on Monday. We came upon a fox crossing Blumberg Road on our way in.
Margaret England deserves a big thanks and all her efforts and hard work. Because of Margaret, Vince Lucas, the South Florida Water Management District, and the Florida Wildlife Commission it looks as though STA - 5 is going to be one America's premier birding locations and will continue bringing in much needed revenue to Glades and Hendry counties.
