Elsa - We have two wintering goldies this year and they are happy to eat the millet seed (finch supreme from Robbies) and black oil sunflower seeds out of the regular tube feeders.
I haven't seen them in the squirrel proof (caged )feeders that the painted buntings prefer. The nijer tubes are in the same area and they are just sitting there full of seed...
