Yes I've had a great time with bird photography in the month I've been here. I'm limited as to how far I can go right now because I'm here working and don't have time or gas $$ to travel far for birding. Fortunately I'm 4 miles from Wako and Green Cay. Will be going to Everglades, Corkscrew, Coral Gables (burrowing owls) and other sites in late Feb/early March, since I'm doing an art show in Venice Beach the first weekend March. Still have to check out the local burrowing owls, too.
Yes the sandhills were quite noisy - I thought they were frogs at first, until I saw who was making the noise.
Maybe I'll bump into you sometime on the boardwalk!
