: Hey birders, a pair of birds entered my nest box and started bringing sticks to it. Its not a red0bellied woodpecker how I wanted to, its a European Starling pair. Yesterday I saw them starting to inspect the nest box. Today their guarding the nest box and their territory. Well, at least theirs something on my nest box. I got my camcorder and I recorded the pair of European Starlings. I saw the red-bellied woodpecker go to my tree and the starlings attacked them immediately.
: The baby chick survived that night and in the morning I put it one the nest and then the baby came off the nest. I suppose that the chick can almost fly from it. Good Birding

Just for your infomation, Starlings are an non-native evil bird, and have been forcing out native birds of their habitat. especially Purple martins and woodpeckers. Both are losing the battle mostly because the starling are very aggresive. Do them both a favor and destroy the starlings nests. Check out a purple martin web site and you will see what the starlings do just to these birds. They are reducing our native birds populations. Just my 2 cents.
