That is acceptable since I never have seen one before except in adult breeding plummage.
Thank you for the input. I have Thayer & Sibley. What makes the call a hooded? Lack of wispy crest? They all seem to have grey back, white belly and a crest of some sort. Thayer is very weak with pictures on this bird; Sibley has better.
