Today I went outside to see the adult Cardinals give food to their baby chicks. I heard one chick in the nest. I heard another one on the floor. I went to see it and it was helpless on the floor. The adult cardinals were guarding it from me. My worries is that a cat that I have seen recently is going to eat the chick and maybe the father and mother. My idea is to take the baby chick as fast as possible and put it back in the nest. I f someone has any suggestions about this please respond fast. Time is running out. Also today I saw a European Starling enter my nest box for about 7 seconds then it flew from the tree. I saw a pair of starlings go in a hole in a tree from a red-bellied woodpecker. That hole is about 50 feet from my nest box. I don't know if they will go to mine. So please reply. Thankyou
