The blue heron by the boardwalk - the one very close to the gazebo - had at least one chick as of Jan 28. Two of the nesting herons swallowed huge fish that had been in the nest, to the astonishment of all watching. I assume the fish had been placed there previously, and they are being swallowed to digest and regurgitate later for the babies? Photos of this activity and others on my website.
