My favorite birds would have to be owls and goatsuckers. The reason for that is because of the the calls. Two favorites are the Barred Owl & Chuck-will's-widow, Mainly for the call's. A couple weeks ago i was in ENP and was using my lap top to try to call some owls and goatsuckers. My first spot was at Royal Palm where I had quick success with the Barred Owls. Two showed and started calling back. When they first called i knee it was time to get low and stay lower than my truck for a few min. as not to get dive boomed after a couple of low flybys. I cut the calls out and the owls stayed, and i was able to get a Photo of one of them on a branch right above me. This weekend i will be back up there and see if i can call in some diffrent night birds. While hiding be hind my truck.
