Here is a photo from December 4th, I saw this Bald Eagle take this Coot. All of Coots were in the far southwest corner of Cutler Wetlands. The Eagle flew in and made most of the Ducks take flight, the Coots don't seem to be as smart. They just sit in the water waiting for the Eagle to choose one for a meal. The Eagle flew around the Coots a couple of times deciding who was going to be its meal. He gracefully swooped down and grabbed his victim without any trouble what so ever! He landed with its prey in the marsh but then took off and headed south with it. I have seen Eagles grab other water fowl in the same manner, it is like picking an Apple off a tree!
