Hi! Regarding the number of birds at the bird feeders I estimate I am having the usual variety and number of birds that I have been having for the last six years. I keep six feeders(different types) fairly full and don't allow them to empty. Three are in the front yard and three are in the back. I also have two birdbaths, one in the front and one in the back. Even though my small yard has many trees and shrubs the surrounding neighborhood is rather sparse by comparison. I am getting many Doves,(Mourning,Eurasian Collared, and Whited Winged.) I get many Red-Winged Blackbirds,Common Grackles,Yellow-chevroned Parakeets and Monk Parakeets. In addition, more recently I am getting Cowbirds (Brownheaded,Bronze and Shiny) The Bronze I have had fairly regularly though not every day for about a month. The shiny I have not seen in about two and a half weeks. Before that, for about a three week period I got one to two twice a day every day. I am certain of the I.D.. I presently have two Blue-Jays and a pair of cardinals everyday. The Painted Bunting (male) has been coming every except one(the cat appeared). Intermittedly I am getting a single Catbird. The Oven Bird I have been getting for the past 2-3 years only stayed a few days. The Red-Bellied Woodpecker I see only occasionally. That about sums up my sightings at present, though during Fall migration I got about four Warbler species I'm not getting now (though still getting a few Palm Warblers). I believe I saw a Coopers Hawk in my backyard very briefly last week.
