White winged dove are common at feeders at MHOC (University & Sawgrass). We have tracked them with interest since first appearance 6 years past. Our field experience is that they are more aggressive than the mourning dove....but....a far easier target for hawks. The greatest kill numbers at our site is white-winged. Red shouldered hawk is also the most active predator on the doves.
We also have seen our first ground dove (now almost eliminated from our environ) two months past. I miss those little guys.
Mottled ducks are also appearing at the feed station. Thrashers are very low in numbers, shrike very high. Fish Raven/crows are down significantly in numbers (hurrah for the nesting birds).
