My daughter and I spotted a white winged dove at our frontyard bird feeder this morning. It was the first one either of us had ever seen! Not being familiar with this breed of dove we thought it could possibly be a one of a kind sighting in this area. But, after speaking to Joe Barros at the Tropical Audubon Society, we soon found out the white winged dove is not uncommon here in Soth Florida. Oh well, even though our sighting wasn't a one of a kind, it was still exciting!! For those interested in charting this sighting it was made in Coconut Creek, Florida which is in Northern Broward County, at 8:00am on 3/27/03.
