What's so wrong with feeding some of Florida's most beautiful birds? We enjoy watching the Jays everyday, they are some of our very coolest birds. If you take the time to observe their behavior you can see how smart they truly are. We see them weigh out the peanuts that we feed them picking through them until they are satisfied that have picked the very best one. Then they make false holes before burying the peanut in the real hole. How they find this peanut again, has always been a mystery to us. They are also some of the best mimics of the bird world. Not to mention their beautiful plumage. You can target different species of birds by adding more feeders, for example have an open feeder just for the Jays with Raw peanuts in the shell. Then you can have your cage feeders for smaller birds. All you need is balance. Keep in mind the more birds you attract the more predators will take notice.
