OK, my 2-cents. When I first planted my natives and set up my feeders, I was disappointed at first but quickly got some takers, including Painted and Indigo Buntings and my only Florida Yellow-headed Blackbird. I had a Cooper's Hawk stake out my feeders for a while due to all the doves, and I still see one from time to time. On one occasion I saw a big explosion of feathers and ran outside to see a Cooper's AND a Peregrine both circling overhead. The one that took out the dove may have been a third raptor. The point here is: this morning I had Painted Buntings, 2 Hummers, Grackles, Blue Jays, Doves and Spice Finches all at my feedre or nearby shrubs, so they all come back. Don't worry.
