In addition to the places mentioned under "birding" on the Broward County Audubon Society site, Fern Forest is a large natural area with lots of birds (off Lyons, just south of Atlantic). The Woodmont Natural Area in Tamarac (80th Ave. north of McNab) is worth a look too; it is small, but often has plenty of birds. Good luck!
