I arrived at Crandon and immediately saw a Parasitic Jaeger swoop down on the flock of terns on the sandbar right in front of me. I thought this would be a sign of large jaeger numbers, but only saw two other jaegers heading south too far offshore to ID. I did have a flock of 9 Black Scoters fly north just off the beach. Four or five gannets passed by heading south farther out.

The strong winds and heavy chop made scanning offshore very difficult, and even if I'd seen more jaegers they would have been impossible to ID at that distance. Still, this is the time to hit the coast. You may get lucky.
