I had 2 Limpkin last week near the Holiday Hammock area west of the C-111E canal. Take 9336 as if going towards ENP from Florida City and look for the C-111E after passing Benito Juarez Park (the park is on the right at the bend after you turn at the prison). The C-111E will be the first canal you encounter. After passing the C-111E, look for 209 Ave. and turn left. Go straight and continue on the dirt road. You will enter a nursery area. Continue unti the road is about to end. There is a house on the right side with an entrance that says "East Gate". The Limpkins were straight ahead on the road at a puddle.

Short Tailed Hawks are pretty reliable at Lucky Hammock/Annex and also at Royal Palm. There have been several Painted Buntings, including males, at Lucky Hammock/Annex. Lucky Hammock is on Aerojet Rd. Continue on 9336 heading towards ENP. After passing the C-111 (the next canal after C-111E), look for the turn to the left with a side for Southern Glades Wildlife Area. Lucky Hammock is the small hammock on the right. The Annex is farther south on this road after passing the fields.

Good luck
