David, that is cruel, teasing an elderly person like myself with such a task.
Let's see, 60 seconds per minute x 60 minutes per hour x 12 hours per day x 15 days so far this month = only 648,000 seconds. Soooo... 3,250,000 hawks divided by 648,000 seconds means I would be counting 5 hawks a second from sun up to sundown. What if I lost count, or blinked, or needed a sip of water? I would be behind, never to catch up.
I just timed myself, and the best I could do was 2.6 numbers per second. Counting would be utterly hopeless.
If I do go I won't count. I'll recline in a hammock; old eyes cast skywards towards the raptors, and dream about how wonderful this Earth is.
