This is my first Townsend's, so I'm only guessing on this one, but based on some photos online I think this may be an adult female. The following link shows a female with auriculars that are a close match to our bird. But, I'd like to here from more experienced birders on this one.
I'm still not getting over this afternoon. See, whining works!
