I meant to post this one earlier but inadvertently posted the first one instead -hopefully I won't be pilloried for it--this one has bit more life to it...

meanwhile, for the last week or so a covey/kettle/flock/family of swallowtailed kites has been making a regular soaring display near my house a few blocks north of the intersection of Red and Bird Roads(57 Ave and 40th Street) between 6 15 and 7 30 PM nightly. 5-7 birds each evening soar at a few hundred feet, then drop to within 50 feet of the park and canal(my vantage point) or the Biltmore golf course, then disappear, apparently to roost nearby. If they appear this evening(I was unable to check last night) I will issue a report for anyone interested in the show.
