Yesterday, 7/22, I met Donna Schulman from New York while scanning Cutler Wetlands. There were some shorebirs, so we put our scopes to work from the 97th Ave side.

Water levels have really dropped and Shorebird numbers have increased, but the variety is down. Most of the new birds are just more Least Sandpipers, with only 2 SB-Dowitchers, 2 Western Sandpipers, 1 Stilt Sandpiper, and 3 Pectorals. There were also both Yellowlegs and some Semipalm Plovers. We checked the wetlands from all sides and also the wastewater treatment plant, but didn't find anything unusual.

After I left, Donna went back and scanned the wetlands and surrounding environs and found a Wood Duck in the small pond to the north of the main Wetlands. This is #104. She will email me a photo when she is back home. Way to go Donna! So nice to have visitors enjoy our sites.
