First off, the plural of genus is genera, which is the root of general. (Just as species is the root of specific).

Second, there are plenty of records of birds in different genera hybridizing; I think there might even be hybridization between different families.

But I'm not saying that this proves whether a COMY and a SUST can hybridize. That would be interestring, since COMYs probably are obligate cavity nesters, while SUSTs apparently nest in either cavities or an open nest. Given that the native ranges of the two species aren't anywhere near sympatric (overlapping), a hybridization between the two species would almost certainly be a first anywhere.
