After a diligent three hour search and finding nothing I fear the baby nighthawks are gone....not necessarily dead, just gone. Eva was gifted to see them, I am happy for her.
It was hot out there, as in HOT. There is nothing like walking in a sludge basin at 97 degrees.
We did spook an otter that broke cover and ran to the water. We also saw much evidence of bobcat and a good number of rabbit tracks.
