the nest is clearly avian construction, in my view, and was found on the ground, in proximity to the tree limb from which it was apparently attached and eventually dislodged..

and Georgiana-there WILL BE a test--my original post described the eggs as 3/8ths of an inch long each-I stand by the accuracy of my calipers....does that disqualify them as lizard eggs?

when i get back from Sanibel Saturday afternoon from a day and a half of(you'll pardon the expression) snook fishing, I will conduct a further inspection/autopsy of one of the unhatched eggs--any proposed instructions? suggested tools(ie a candle?)?
