Interestingly, the flamingo flock that showed up in Pembroke Pines in 2005 appeared at the same time of year. Hurricane Dennis had produced sustained southerly winds and may have blown them up the peninsula or maybe from points further south.
This photo was taken in mid July 2005. We will never know this flock's origin, but the Snake Bight flock was not seen during this period of time.
