Flamingo is a Wild Child

Went down to see the Greater Flamingo at Cutler Wetlands this morning and, if you'll indulge a personal opinion, I have no doubt that this is a wild vagrant. The bird is wary and skittish, flying readily when other birds get too close. Second, it is actively feeding, using its feet to rake the mud and scare up prey; captive birds fed non-living pellets don't do this. Third, the color is right - neither too pallid nor orange, but bright pink. Fourth, it honks with a distinctly Bahamian accent, mon. Wild bird, wild bird. Go see this guy (or gal) while you can.
