Sure. It is a rare vagrant to South Florida. This isn't the first one, and certainly not the last. We have them to the east, south, and west, and they are known to fly high and far at times. So why wouldn't they show up here, especially with all the wetlands we have? I bet if one showed up in Ft. DeSoto it would certainly be considered wild.
