I live on Satellite Beach. They've been washing up here since Friday or Saturday. I've taken the three live ones that we found to the Florida Wildlife Hospital in Melbourne. We've been finding 6-10 dead birds daily on the beach, and that is just behind our condo complex. It is my understanding that there are many more up and down the coast near us. The hospital told me yesterday that they had received over one hundred of these birds for treatment, and that most weren't doing very well. The ones I found that were still living seemed as if they were neurologically impaired. Head bobbing, and an inability to walk with any sort of coordination. I saw several floating and getting tossed about in the surf, and I believe those were the ones that washed asore dead the following day.
