This AM in the pines and oaks along Riverland Road and SW 28th Terr in Broward I watched the following: I saw a long white tail on what I thought was a Blue Jay, I thought maybe some abnormality and followed it - this bird was surrounded by Blue Jays and being half-heartedly harrassed - perhaps they are used to it now. The bird was busily choosing and breaking off a largish oak twig, much like the Monk Parakeets. The bird was Jay sized but a little larger, similar wing shape, longer tail, higher crest on head. White sweeping tail, white breast. I mean bright, pure white. Black head with crest and black neck/throat. Black or possibly dark blue back. That was the best I could see and remember. It flew across the road to another pine tree with the twig, I assume it is building a nest so there could be another one, and I hopw to see both. What is it? It reminded me a bit of a Magpie; having just returned from 2 weeks of a driving tour of the Pacific Northwest I watched hundreds.
