Scrub Jays have been found 3 out of 4 times at the Park office not park entrance at J.D.S.P: I have seen them in the shrubs along US 1, on the wires along US 1, along the powerlines along the road to the park office, by parking at the park office I have seen back in the scrub, and in the open space by the powerlines. The park office is north of the park entrance on US 1.
Red-headed Woodpeckers-I have seen them at Archbold which is also excellent for Scrub Jays and near Merrit Island. Look for pinelands with alot of dead trees maybe an area with a severe burn.
Good Luck birding
