According to the Smith et al. (2000; North American Birds 54: 235-240) paper that refuted all previous reports of Loggerhead Kingbird in Florida, there are seven races of LOKI: _caudifasciatus_ of mainland Cuba, _flavescens_ of the Isle of Youth, _bahamensis_ of the Bahamas, _jamaicensis_ of Jamaica, _caymanensis_ of Grand Cayman, _gabbii_ of Hispaniola, and _taylori_ of Puerto Rico.

From the descriptions given by Smith et al. (2000), the Key West bird seems to be from mainland Cuba, which matches the geographic likelihood (FWIW).

The photos and voice descriptions of the Key WEst kingbird do seem to match Loggerhead Kingbird perfectly, but the FOSRC and ABA CLC will ultimately decide the identification later this year, since this record would represent the first for Florida and the ABA Area. (The bird is already on the AOU list based on its occurrence in the West Indies).

So for now, calling it an apparent Loggerhead Kingbird is preferable, IMHO.
