Well,
I do like my books.
I already have Sibley(s),Kaufman and a few others.
My habit is to try and get shots of the birds and then take them home and and go point by point over the identifiers, ie: orange legs and short bill for piping plover.
I find that by the time I try to pull out a book on site, the bird is often gone and by the time I get back to the car I may have forgotten key points. Early old timers or blonde brain, who knows.
There is a lot to learn, but I am working on it and having a great time. The responses on this board are invaluable!!
By the way, the flag band was definitely orange to me.
I will post another shot later tonite that may help.
