Notice the size difference in the birds, the size of the bill and the white on the tips of the primary feathers.
I believe there are many Franklin's Gulls mixed in with large flocks of Laughing Gulls that go unnoticed and unidentified. Over the last year, when I have looked for Franklin's in large flocks of gulls, I have found Franklin's 50% of the time. Give it a shot next time you have the chance...
