Today, around noon I spotted a light morph Short-tailed Hawk hovering over the park lot of the Gulf Coast Visitor Center For Everglades National Park here in Everglades City. I am a seasonal park ranger here and I occasionally spotted them, mostly the dark morph, on our ranger lead canoe trips during my previous winters here. I know Short tailed Hawks well from living 10 years off and on in Flamingo and trying to spot them whenever I could. I also spotted a light morph (maybe even the same one that Vince spotted) hovering over the Home Depot in Naples around this time last December.
