As Sibley states in his Eastern field guide, "separation of these grebes can be difficult . . ." Looking at all the photos this time, it's interesting how the peak above the eye is not at all evident on photo 3 (the one photo I didn't look at the first time). That being said, I still think it's an Eared Grebe. None of my field guides (including National Geographic, Sibley and Harrison's "Seabirds")shows a Horned Grebe with black on the face extending below the eye, as it does on the Green Cay bird. Also, a Horned Grebe should have a whitish tip to the bill, which doesn't appear to be the case on the Green Cay bird.

Other opinions would be most welcome.
