I am pretty sure. The first thing I thought was sapsucker, but it was large and no yellow. I came home and "perused" the books and decided. I myself questioned whether it could be possible, but I am pretty convinced. This bird was in the large banyan tree behind the library, of course playing the typical woodpecker"hide and go seek" but I probably watched it for about 15 minutes.
This is south Florida and you just never know!
