On Sunday, September 22th, at 6:30 p.m., I was doing some yard work on Whitehead Street in Coconut Grove, which is near SW 27th Ave and US 1, when I heard the squawk of parrots. I looked in the direction of the noise and I saw a pair of large parrots with long pointed tails, heading east. As they were overhead, they turned and flew in a northwest direction. They appeared to be macaws, however, because of their height, the time of day and my color blindness, I was unable to make a positive identification. They were both light colored underneath, including the wings, tail and body. Does anyone know of macaws roosting in that area?
