A nice selection of migrants, etc. continues at A D Barnes Park, including a late Louisiana Waterthrush among the 15 species of warblers seen. All were seen this afternoon, from 4:00-6:45 PM:
White-crowned Pigeon
Yellow-chevroned Parakeet
Chuck-will's-widow
Belted Kingfisher
Eastern Wood-Pewee
Loggerhead Shrike
Yellow-throated Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
Tufted Titmouse
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Gray Catbird
Northern Parula
Magnolia Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler
Yellow-throated Warbler
Pine Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Palm Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Ovenbird
Northern Waterthrush
Louisiana Waterthrush
Common Yellowthroat
Scarlet Tanager
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Baltimore Oriole
The Louisiana Waterthrush was seen at close range. It was feeding along the path through the hammock in the southeast corner of the park. I can't recall ever seeing a Louisiana Waterthrush at Barnes after early September. In Everglades National Park, where a few winter, yes, but at Barnes, no. Maybe this one will winter as well.
