Alex,
Not sure about FL, but up here in VA I have noticed a multitude of Swainys moving through on various night flights I have heard. They utter an emphatic "BE" call as they fly overhead. This is probably the best way to monitor Swainy and other thrush numbers, as they can be relatively tough to find on the ground. I would say it is a better than average year for them.
