Went to Bill Sadowski again this morning hoping for a great fall out. That
didn't happen but it was still a good morning. There were a few new arrivals and
about the same number and variety of warbler species.
Today there were the same 6-8 Spot-breasted Orioles along with an adult male
Baltimore and at least one first Fall Male Baltimore Oriole. I also startled
what I think was a Great Horned Owl which flew to an area that I didn't have
time to walk to. Also seen was an interesting Empidonax species. It had an eye
ring but not really distinct like a Least and it had a fairly dark and yellowish
under side. The overall color was greenish to the eye and through my binoculars.
I am posting a couple of poor photos for some fun trying to ID the bird with my
brief visual description and the photos.
The photos show fairly accurately the colors that I saw on the underside.
All opinions are welcome.
Toe already said, "My vote is for Acadian, but it could also be a Willow,
Alder, Least, Yellow-bellied, Cordilleran, or Pacific-slope."
