Contrary to what the Sibey Guide states, I'm not aware of any "established" population of Nutmeg Mannikins in Florida. There are occasional reports (e.g., less than one report/year) from Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, and there is one or more small populations in the Pensacla area, but none of these can be considered established.

Incidentally, the only verifiably documented record of Nutmeg Mannikin in Florida was of one individual photographed at Loxahatchee NWR in Jan 2004. Several other species of mannikins (AKA munias or silverbills) have been reported in Florida. Adult Nutmeg Mannikins are distinctive, but juveniles probably are indistinguishable from other species.
