Trey, your description was not consistent with Townsend's Warbler.
If the light was so bad that you would mistake the olive with dark flecks of a Townsend's Warbler for the black of a Blackburnian, then a BT Green would also appear to have a black back and auriculars, making it hard to distinguish from Townsend's.
BT Green has more extensive yellow on the flanks, which fits your latest remarks concerning the bird.
