Hi - Just wanted to drop a note from Barrie, Ontario in Canada (where it is snowing as I type this message) that after our 3.5 days filled with warm weather and much birding to say what a great time we had during our first ever visit to Florida!

My daughter Julie and I were able to see approximately 84 species (of which 36 were lifers for us!) and include a few introduced exotics.

Special thanks to Joe Barros (and Linda) who made us feel so welcome on the April 1st field trip through Mattheson Hammock Park and Fairchild Gardens - we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Hope you found a nice orchid Joe!

Over the 3.5 days we took many many pictures as we visited numerous state parks from Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in the south (Key West) up to John U. Lloyd Beach State Park in the north; and from South Beach Miami in the east to the Everglades Shark Valley and Everglades National Park in the west.

Florida has some of the most awesome birds we have ever seen - thanks for the memories!
