Early morning strong NW winds produced a warbler fallout in Cape Florida. Beginning at 7:45 waves of warblers streamed into the park from the ocean. About 80% of my totals were from a small 20-yard section of the trail, so my numbers are a fraction of what was actually there. Also, I probably missed some species.
In addition to warblers, several Solitary Sandpipers were heard and a small movement of Barn Swallows came through. Stationed along the east trail were: Cooper's and 2 Broad-winged Hawks, and 2 Merlins (1 with a fresh Black-and-white Warbler).
