Thanks for pointing that out, John.
There seems to be a lot of bloviation concerning the continuing string of record periods of global warming. The truth is that most of these records are actually within the margin of error of one another. So rather than being a new record high they really show a stabilization of temperatures, albeit at a high level.
NOAA, in the past, would report on these Margin of Errors, unfortunately they stopped providing this important contextual information. I suspect this has more to do with politics than science.
