Mottled plumage is ok for young Zone-tailed.
The plumage is either a bit weird, or oddly lit (what is with the tail?), which makes it harder to draw conclusions.
However, the color of the bare parts seems more like Short-tailed (Zone-tailed is usually quite yellow), as do the bulging wings (ZT usually smoother). The bright areas of the wings look good for Short-tailed also. Young ST s don t necessarily have the dark border on the wings, and ZT s certainly don t.
